We are currently witnessing a rapidly moving transition trend towards electronic health information systems. In this context, topics like interoperability and security became fundamental aspects in order to develop well structured healthcare systems.
Our workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from both of security and interoperability areas and apply it on the healthcare sector in order to: 1) discuss the many remaining technical challenges, 2) the challenges of balancing interoperability with the need for security, and 3) develop an agenda for future research in the healthcare sector.
The main topics for discussion are:
The target audience are: healthcare providers, health informatics professionals, healthcare managers, healthcare security practitioners, healthcare software providers, lawyers and academia.
The WISH is organized by the projects: OFELIA [PTDC/EIA-EIA/104328/2008], SAHIB [PTDC/EIA-EIA/105352/2008] and OPTIM [PTDC/EIA-EIA/099920/2008]. These projects are being conducted with the institutional support provided by CINTESIS (FMUP) and CRACS (FCUP) investigation groups.
